Beyond Soil Life is not a new idea. It is the home and small-scale grower version of work RegenZ and Zylem have been doing on South African farms for three decades.
Zylem started in the early 1990s, formulating biological inputs for commercial growers in KwaZulu-Natal. RegenZ grew out of that, focused on bringing regenerative practice to smallholders, emerging farmers and food aggregators across Southern Africa.
Beyond Soil Life puts the same biology, in smaller packs, into the hands of home gardeners and small-scale growers who want to build soil rather than just feed plants.

Every product in the range is manufactured in our Pietermaritzburg facility, using locally sourced raw materials wherever possible. Kelp from the South African coast. Compost from regional sources. Microbial strains cultured on site.
Trial work happens on real farms, not in a laboratory only. The Beyond Soil Life range has been tested on smallholder plots in KwaZulu-Natal, market gardens in Plettenberg Bay and home patches across the country before it ships.

The range is built for two kinds of grower: the home gardener with pots, beds or a backyard food patch, and the small-scale grower producing for the market, a school feeding scheme, or a community kitchen.
Both face the same fundamental questions. How do I get more from this patch of ground? How do I do it without spending more than I earn? How do I keep the soil alive so I can grow on it again next year?
The products are sized for these grower types. The instructions are written for these grower types. The support is staffed by people who grow the same way.
The range will grow with the growers who use it.
We add products when growers ask for them and when the trial data supports it. We change pack sizes when feedback tells us a different size works better for a backyard gardener.
